- Enable your guests to book now!
It’s crucial that your guests can book online, at a time that’s convenient to them. If you don’t enable online booking on your website, you’re missing out. Only 66.5% of guests say they would make an email or telephone enquiry if they can’t book online. That means you’ll potentially lose out on more than one-third of bookings if your guests can’t book online¹:
- Create good, useful content
As your main marketing tool, it’s important your website remains ahead of your competitors and at the top of the search rankings. To do that, the first thing you need to do is research – get to know your target audience and do your keyword research. Google Keyword Planner can help you with this. Once you know what your guests want and how they find you, it’s easy to create relevant content for your site. You can find some great tips here for ensuring you create quality content.

Third-party booking websites (like Airbnb and Booking.com) are a great way to extend your reach at very little risk – and a good channel manager will remove the headache of managing multiple listings by doing it for you. Your keyword research (refer to point 2, above) can help you figure out which sites to list on. Although we’d never recommend becoming overly reliant on third-party channels (no one really likes paying commission, after all), it pays to include them in your marketing mix. And, if nothing else, if you create enough demand for your properties, you can charge more.
